Niki Takos

Niki has proudly been a SA SEPLA executive committee member for 4 years and Vice President for 2 years.
To the association, Niki brings her experience, skills and knowledge gained in working as a teacher and leader in the Special Education field for 25 years in a wide variety of settings i.e. special classes, units / programmes in mainstream schools and special schools. She has a passion and commitment to advocate strongly for all students with a disability, their family and the staff that work with them, respecting and being representative of all voices.
She is a strong advocate for all students with a disability and is passionate about a consistent state-wide approach that aims at achieving improved student outcomes using evidence based practices.
'I believe we have lifted the profile of Special Education, our students are more visible than ever, we are a respected Association influencing policies to improve teaching and learning for students with a disability. It is an exciting time to be in Special Education and I am committed to continue our good work as an Association.'
