Lorna is the Principal of Adelaide West Special Education Centre and joined the SASEPA exec committee in 2019.
Lorna moved to Adelaide from London in 1999 and began working in Special Education while studying for a Masters in Special Education at Flinders university.
Having worked with students living with a wide range of disabilities, she is passionate about advocacy for appropriate focussed education for these students and tries to take every opportunity to highlight their needs within the department and the wider community.
She wishes to assist staff working across the department to recognise that the Australian Curriculum, SACE modified, STEM, LDAM and all other initiatives should ensure that students living with disability can be included.
Lorna is passionate about providing students with a means of communication and is keen to support the use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems for all children and young people with complex communication needs who attend education sites in South Australia.
